Description

Virginia MOCA is proud to present a retrospective honoring Suzanne Stevens and the lasting impact of her more than 45 years of teaching at the museum.

Stevens works across a range of media, including in watercolor, oil, pastel, and charcoal , creating landscapes, portraits, and studies of the natural world. Her recent work reflects a deep concern for environmental degradation and aims to inspire greater care for the planet.

Suzanne Stevens, raised in Florida, developed an early connection to the natural world that continues to shape her practice. She studied drawing and painting at Florida State University and earned a Master of Arts from Goddard College in Vermont.
